Vallox Delico enhances both the appearance and functionality of the kitchen
As a flat in the centre of Pori underwent general renovations, the owners decided to also re-do their kitchen. The new look was designed by interior designer Riia Rauhala, an expert in space and interior planning for private individuals and companies. When it came the time to pick a cooker hood, she chose Vallox Delico. ‘Vallox Delico is stylish, and as it was available in black, the choice was clear.’ In the interior design plan, black was used to accentuate the otherwise light-coloured kitchen, so Vallox Delico will now improve both its ventilation and appearance.

Vallox Delico cooker hoods are always installed in cabinets. ‘They are easy to integrate in that way,’ says Rauhala. The site also had a Vallox Delico PTD EC to control the flat’s ventilation system. The steam collection part can be pulled out of the cabinets when it is time to start cooking. When pulled out, Vallox Delico efficiently captures and extracts steam and smoke from cooking.

Trees cannot provide shade for the top floor of the block of flats, so in sunny weather, it is easy for the flat to overheat. In addition to a ventilation unit, the flat has a heat pump in order to improve the comfort of living. The heat pump and ventilation unit complement each other excellently.
The tenant asked if ventilation could be turned up when the heat pump is on. The answer is yes. The units do not interfere with each other, since the ventilation unit “changes” the indoor air, i.e. it supplies fresh, filtered air and extracts humidity and the used air with carbon dioxide. The heat pump, however, does not ventilate but rather moves the air inside the flat and changes its properties, either cooling it down or warming it. You can even open a window without interfering with the operation of the units. If a window is open, the air enters without passing through the ventilation unit. In other words, the supply air is the same temperature as the outside air and unfiltered. If you want to make sure that your indoor air is filtered and at the optimal temperature, it is best to keep the windows closed and allow the ventilation unit to do its job.
