Vallox promotes the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Vallox is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). We have chosen four primary goals, which we can promote concretely through our operations and solutions.

7 – Affordable and clean energy

  • Our products are based on heat recovery and they save energy
  • We aim to increase the use of fossil-free energy
  • We carry out annual energy-saving projects; for example, our factory has switched to LED illumination
  • We have set limits for the emission standard of company cars, and emissions from our car pool are decreasing gradually
  • The total electricity consumption of Vallox decreased by approximately 10% between 2020 and 2024.

8 – Decent work and economic growth

  • We are a local employer – both directly and indirectly
  • Our products have been granted the Key Flag Symbol, which symbolises Finnish work
  • We offer traineeships and work experience opportunities for students
  • We monitor job satisfaction with the eNPS metric
  • We invest in occupational safety
  • We support the well-being of children and young people by, for example, sponsoring local recreational activities
  • Our Code of Conduct guides our operations and supply network
  • Our annual sickness absence rate has decreased since the epidemic and is now at 2.5%

12 – Sustainable consumption

  • The absolute amount of waste decreased by 46% between 2020 and 2024.
  • The carbon footprint caused by waste decreased by 62% between 2020 and 2024.
  • We are constantly looking into new technologies and production methods that could enhance our use of resources.
  • Whenever possible, we use recycling materials in our components and materials.
  • We use an environmental management system compliant with the ISO 14001 standard.

13 – Climate action

  • We are committed to reducing the environmental impacts of our products during their life cycle
  • Our objective is to produce some of the electricity we need ourselves by fossil-free means (solar panels)
  • The emissions from company cars decreased by 37% between 2021 and 2024, with an emissions decrease of up to 52% per kilometre travelled.
  • We have switched to using biodiesel in domestic deliveries.
