The homes of fresh air in the Kouvola Housing Fair area are ready for residents of all ages
At the Kouvola Housing Fair 2019, visitors can explore a number of buildings, where the freshness of the indoor air is ensured by a Vallox ventilation unit.
Villa Element is a dream come true
A young family built a house of their dreams in Koria by Kymijoki River. Iida Rajamäki and Ville Tikkanen are happy about the ecology and closeness to nature of Villa Element (site 5). For Iida, the calming effect of nature generated by the views that open out towards Kymijoki River behind the trees is one of the key attractions. “This is an amazing place for our five-year old daughter Miia to grow up”, she says in the spacious open concept kitchen and living room. A cute room has been decorated for the little princess of the family with plenty of room to play. The daycare centre is located just next door. Daycare centre was one of the renovation sites of the fair. During the project, a magnificent old brick building that was originally constructed as the home of the Commander of the garrison in the early 1900s was renovated and turned into a daycare centre.
A Vallox 096 MV ventilation unit takes care of the ventilation of the home. As yet, the residents have little experience of the unit. “There it is in the utility room. We’ll have to learn more about it once we’ll be able to move in after the fair. Although I might let Ville do that”, Rajamäki says with a smile. Lucky for her, adjusting the efficiency of the ventilation unit is easy, as each mode is marked with clear symbols in the control panel. The fireplace mode of the unit will be used a lot in this family. The magnificent white-tiled fireplace at the end of the kitchen island also serves as a space divider. “We’re looking forward to being able to enjoy the warmth of the fire on dark autumn evenings”, Ville says.
Vallox 145 MV can be found in many buildings in the fair area
Fair site 4, Airon Haave, radiates harmony. The downstairs premises, decorated with light-coloured furniture, is designed for socialising. The Vallox 145 ventilation unit, located in the technical space, keeps the indoor air fresh. The same unit has been chosen for the fair site 2, Designtalo Airon neito, for Talo Korea (fair site 13), and Dekolaku (fair site 21).
Communal living for senior citizens at Virkkulankylä
Kouvolan Virkkulankylä (fair sites 25-27) is an interesting solution that is well worth visiting! This rental complex is aimed at senior citizens, offering its future residents not only the security provided by communality but also private, light-filled, and pleasant housing premises.
The village constructed by Virkkulankylä Oy comprises 8 houses, each of which has 4 apartments and a shared living room, sauna, and utility room. The apartments have one or two bedrooms. The villagers also have access to Korttelitalo Kaislikko, which can be used for socialising or reserved for private use, e.g. celebrating a name day with the entire family.
Each building has a Vallox 145 ventilation unit, which is used to implement ventilation throughout the building. The units are located in the warm attic of each building and have been connected to house automation, which is also used to control them. For the senior citizens of the houses, this is an easy and care-free solution.
