Enterprises as the power of development in Loimaa

Loimaa, the hometown of Vallox, has a reminiscent of the countryside and is a good place for the Home of Fresh Air. The anniversary greeting this time comes from the Development Director of Loimaa town, Matti Tunkkari.

Vallox Oy and its operation has been a contributor to the development of the city of Loimaa and surrounding area. After World War II, the mechanization of agriculture created the foundation for industrial development. It called for active and forward-looking entrepreneurs with the strength and ability to do the things they felt were right. The results of their efforts became visible over the years, companies grew and developed new products and solutions. And hired new employees. In this way, people looking for a new direction in their lives got jobs and were able to build their lives in the home district.

Vallox Oy’s development trajectory is unique. It was established by a large national company for a specific product segment. However, the location has remained the same. A lot of things have changed. After some phases, the ownership is still today hold by an international family company.

From the city of Loimaa point of view, the local companies that have grown and been successful over the decades have also created well-being in the area. The common characteristic of these companies has been long-term activity. They don’t work or measure their business on quarters, but their time horizon is much longer.

In Loimaa area, the various companies in the technology industry also complete each other. From the broad perspective they operate in the same type of field, but are not competing with each other.

Communication between the city and Vallox management has been long-term. We have come to know each other on the board of the Loimaa Chamber of Commerce. In recent years, the city has been able to support the development of the company through planning the land use. Through the zoning company has preconditions to grow in the same place also in the future. Today, almost 2,000 m2 expansion of the factory building is ongoing and the area in the north side of the current buildings is reserved for the possible future growth. The slogan of Vallox is ‘Home of Fresh Air’ and in the north of the factory they are neighboring the population of flying squirrel. Also those are friends of clean air.
