Notifying substances of very high concern to the SCIP database
As a product manufacturer, Vallox respects international directives and standards in selecting raw materials, materials, and components for its products. These include the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) and the REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006), which protect human health by restricting the use of harmful metals and chemicals in products.
The aim of the RoHS Directive is to reduce the environmental burden of electrical and electronic equipment to be disposed of and promote more environmentally friendly methods of manufacture. The Directive applies to specific metals and fire retardants that have been identified to have a harmful effect on human health and the environment. All Vallox products meet the RoHS requirements.
The REACH Regulation aims to improve the protection of human health and the environment against chemical hazards. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) updates its list of substances of very high concern (SVHC) regularly. Under Article 33 of the REACH Regulation, if a product contains such a substance in a concentration above 0.1 % weight by weight, the supplier shall inform the product recipient of the existence of the substance and provide them with sufficient information to allow safe use. The supplier shall also submit the information to the SCIP database maintained by ECHA.
These substances are found in, for example, electronic components. Based on information provided by our suppliers, some of our products contain substances included in the Candidate List of SVHC in concentrations that exceed the limit of 0.1%. We have submitted the required information on these products to the SCIP. You can find the SCIP numbers of these products in the appendix. These products are compliant with the requirements of the REACH Regulation and do not pose any risk to human health or the environment, if used properly. We always use any substances identified in legislation in accordance with the relevant provisions and monitor regulatory changes continuously to ensure constant compliance.
