Loimaan Helmi has fresh indoor air

In 2020, LähiTapiola Loimi-Häme demolished an old building with a maintenance backlog in the centre of Loimaa and replaced it with a new. The ventilation is made with Vallox units.
The seven-storey Loimaan Helmi has 15 apartments and two business premises at the street level. The aim of the technology choices of the building was to meet the modern requirement for ecological housing: the building is heated by means of district heating and has solar energy readiness. A charging point for two electric cars is also being planned in the yard area of the housing company.
Pleasant and modern housing in the city centre area
The sizes of the apartments vary between 34.0 m2 and 70.5 m2. The ventilation of the modern apartments is implemented by means of Vallox 096 MV units that are equipped with top class MyVallox technology. The maximum airflows of the units make them suited to apartments that are up to 130 m2 in size. Thanks to the efficiency of the ventilation units, the units of Loimaan Helmi do not need to be used at their maximum power. The residents will notice this by their silent operation.
-The ventilation unit choice at Loimaan Helmi reflects a high regard for quality, as all units are equipped with modern technology, says the Regional Head of Sales Arto Satumäki from Vallox.
The humidity and carbon dioxide sensors that have been integrated with the apartment-specific Vallox 096 MV units measure the humidity and carbon dioxide levels of the indoor air and boost ventilation based on the need. The residents of Loimaan Helmi will be able to enjoy carefree fresh indoor air.
The unit can also be controlled by means of a user-friendly MV control panel. These have been located handily in a visible location inside the apartments.
Installation by using the ceiling mounting plate
The apartment-specific ventilation units were installed in the toilet premises by using the ceiling mounting plate. According to Henri Torikka from Loimaan HT Asennus, who were responsible for the installation, the ceiling mounting plate is an excellent solution:
-It enables the units to only be brought to the site when they are needed, i.e., just before the measuring and adjustment work is started, says Torikka.
The story continues after the video.
The users of the business premises can adjust ventilation based on the need
There are two business premises at the street level (81.5 m2 and 84 m2 in size). There is a Vallox 245 MV ventilation unit in the backroom of each business premises. This allows the users of the premises to control the ventilation separately based on their specific needs. Control panels are located in the backroom.
Operators that will move into the business premises can also let the integrated sensors of the MV units boost the ventilation based on the need. This is especially handy for operators who have a varying number of customers visiting their premises. When the number of persons present in the premises increases temporarily, the carbon dioxide and humidity sensors detect an increase in the carbon dioxide and humidity levels. The ventilation will be boosted automatically until the levels have been restored to the desired level. This leaves more time for doing what needs to be done, and the air remains fresh at all times.
The basement of the apartment building also has mechanical ventilation that keeps the premises fresh. The unit located in the technical space is Vallox 145 MV, which is rated in the energy class A+. Similar to the business premises and the apartments, this unit also has integrated humidity and carbon dioxide sensors that make the ventilation automatic. Thanks to the sensors, ventilation is boosted when wet sports equipment, for example, is brought into the space.
