We want, for our part, to contribute to the sustainable development of our built environment. HVAC solutions often cause a large share of buildings\u2019 total life-cycle carbon footprint. For this reason, we have drawn up Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for our heat recovery units. The EPDs provide essential information to enable choices that promote sustainable development.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As sustainable development is integrated into Vallox\u2019s operating policy, our goal is to take cradle-to-grave responsibility for our products, from the initial steps of the product design to the end of their life cycle when they are retired from service. We began preparing our environmental strategy by surveying our internal and external stakeholders\u2019 views on environmental matters and the way they should be taken into account in Vallox\u2019s operations and products. The survey results helped us to set the goals of Vallox\u2019s environmental strategy. To draw up EPDs, the first step is a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) which assesses a product\u2019s environmental impact throughout its life cycle. Clearly communicated LCA results promote environmental awareness. EPDs are verified by an accredited third party. They enable us to produce reliable information on the way our products affect the environment. It is a plan that helps us move forward in our sustainability efforts.
