Completed in Vantaa in the summer of 2026, Solum Topaasikoti is a modern care home offering accommodation for 93 residents. Construction of the multi-storey building began in 2024. In addition to the care home, the property includes residential apartments and various service facilities. Solum Topaasikoti occupies floors 4 to 6 of the Kivist\u00f6n Siluetti building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The care home’s facilities have been designed to provide residents with a safe, functional, and comfortable everyday environment. Modern spatial solutions, a communal atmosphere, and consideration for residents’ individual needs all contribute to a high-quality living experience.<\/p>\n\n\n

In a care home environment, reliable ventilation, excellent indoor air quality, and low noise levels are particularly important. The entire building is equipped with a mechanical ventilation system featuring heat recovery. Ventilation in the care home itself is provided by two Vallox Pureo air handling units: a Vallox Pureo TX 500 and a Vallox Pureo TX 900. Together, these units create a healthy and comfortable indoor environment for both residents and staff around the clock.<\/p>\n\n\n

Vallox Pureo units can be installed near common areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Both units are located adjacent to common areas, made possible by the sound-insulated design of Vallox Pureo air handling units. With top-class casing airtightness (L1) and mechanical strength (D1), the units effectively prevent noise transmission, ensuring that ventilation does not disturb residents in their daily lives.<\/p>\n\n\n

“In practice, the ventilation units are barely noticeable, even though they are located close to the common areas. The indoor air feels fresh and of high quality, and there have been no odours associated with new building materials in the premises. We have been very satisfied with the overall solution,” say representatives of the Solum Topaasikoti staff. <\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n

The units were also easy to install in a compact technical room thanks to service access doors located on the long sides of the units. This design allows maintenance to be carried out without moving the unit and without difficult reaching or awkward working positions.<\/p>\n\n\n

When designing the building, there was no need to determine the handedness of the units in advance, as Vallox Pureo air handling units are serviceable from both sides. This provided greater flexibility in selecting the installation location and made it easier to integrate the units into the overall building services system.<\/p>\n\n\n

Both units can be transported through a standard 900 mm doorway, making them particularly well suited for apartment building projects where access routes may be limited. In addition, the highly efficient heat recovery system helps reduce the building’s energy consumption and supports its energy-efficiency goals. This is especially important in a care home operating around the clock, where ventilation must run continuously and reliably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
