Talo terveeksi <\/em>is a video series created by the YouTube channel Timpurilta Talo<\/em>. The series is about renovating a 1983 house in J\u00e4rvenp\u00e4\u00e4, Finland, to meet modern requirements. Indoor air problems are addressed at the same time. The renovation project began by dismantling the house\u2019s interior, after which the house has been practically rebuilt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Episode 16, uploaded in January 2024, featured the installation of ventilation. Vallox BlueSky <\/a>was selected as the house\u2019s ventilation solution. It is a great choice due to its low space requirements and the ability to be installed into heated areas without extra insulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The episode opens with carpenter Mikko Merel\u00e4<\/strong> being astonished by the size of the pallet delivered on site: \u201cI have to admit that I\u2019m more than a little surprised. I knew these were smaller tubes, but I\u2019m amazed by how little space they all need.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day\u2019s installation project begins by installing small supporting pieces to the ceiling. Vallox BlueSky tubes can be installed between them by using various fasteners and bands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019d say that for renovations, this is quite an unbeatable system\u201d<\/em>, Merel\u00e4 says while working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When renovating a house, the goal is to keep the room height as high as possible. Vallox BlueSky tubes have an exterior diameter of only 75 mm, making them a great fit for the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s really cool about this is that now that we have these here against the ceiling, we won\u2019t have to lower the ceiling from the normal height much.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If ventilation tubes can be fully installed into heated spaces, i.e., inside the vapour barrier, such as a dropped ceiling, the tubes do not require insulation and the vapour barrier does not have to be perforated unnecessarily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s best about this is that now that were able to place all of the tubes inside dropped ceilings, there was no need to insulate them. Everything was installed into heated spaces. Only the outside and exhaust air tubes needed to be insulated.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renovators also praised the ease of installation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInstalling these tubes was really simple and fun. It was a quick job.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
