Summer cottage is more often habitable throughout the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A leisure home needs ventilation just as any other residential building: impurities and humidity caused by living and the structures need to be led to the outside. Expanding a leisure cottage, tightening it or changing it to be habitable in winter often requires the renovation of ventilation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The need for ventilation in a leisure home is emphasised when a sauna bath is taken, for instance: a small space is submitted to a heavy moisture load. The humidity sensor of the ventilation unit senses that air humidity has risen and automatically boosts ventilation till the humidity level has returned to normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A sufficient amount of fresh, filtered and — in winter — heated air is needed in the bedrooms in the cottage, too, to ensure a refreshing sleep and fresh indoor air in the morning. In summer the automatic heat recovery bypass takes the heat from the sauna directly to the outside and helps keeping the cottage cooler. A good ventilation unit does not form overpressure that harms draught in the fireplace. The Custom mode makes it easier to light the fireplace even after it has been unused for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good smells are an integral part of cooking. If the kitchen is part of an open sitting room, the cooking smells should not go to the rest of the dwelling. In a small kitchen efficient smoke and humidity removal becomes even more important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should never switch ventilation totally off, not even when the leisure home is empty. This is because variations in temperature produce humidity, which has to be removed in order for it not to condense in the textiles and structures and not to cause damage. You can adjust ventilation at a small power when there is nobody staying in the cottage. Direct-current fans that do not consume a lot of electricity combined with efficient heat recovery ensure small energy consumption. Vallox 096<\/a>, for example, can be used in the Away position for a couple of months with the same amount of energy that is consumed when an electric sauna is heated once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also control and monitor Vallox MV models and ventilation at the cottage remotely, with a mobile phone, for instance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
