Vallox Exxeo 4100 roof fan

Vallox Exxeo 4100 DPC

The elegantly designed Vallox Exxeo roof fans with a low sound level and a wide range of sizes and control options are an excellent choice for any site.

The weatherproof Vallox Exxeo can be installed in demanding climate conditions, as the zinc-magnesium coated steel damper (environmental impact category C4; C5 when painted) protects the unit efficiently against corrosion. Thanks to the carefully designed structure, rain water is led to the side of the unit, so that water cannot flow into the duct. The perforated roof panel also protects the duct from leaves and other loose rubbish.

The sound level of the roof fans is considerably lower than before, thanks to the sound-dampening elements in the side panels. The roof fan control equipment is fully integrated inside the roof fan behind the safety door. Maintenance is made easier by the tilting function, which enables turning the roof fan to the side during maintenance of the unit and the duct system. The safety switch delivered with the product is installed and cabled in the factory, and the tilting part is sealed.

The roof fan may be mounted on top of an outlet built on site or using the factory-made Vallox Exxeo roof penetration. With lifting lugs, the roof fan can be lifted onto the roof easily and safely. When replacing an old roof fan, the mounting frame (standard delivery) makes installing easier. The roof fan may also be painted at the factory with a tone included in the RAL colour chart for a perfect match with the colour of the roof, for instance.

The suitable size of the roof fan is chosen from seven different size options in accordance with the required air volumes. The air flow of the largest roof fan, Vallox Exxeo 4100 is 4,100 litres, respectively, with a pressure loss of 150 Pa.

The roof fan range consists of three models with different control methods: the versatile basic model Vallox Exxeo; the Vallox Exxeo DPC (Differential Pressure Control) model equipped with an integrated differential pressure transmitter; and the Vallox Exxeo DS (Dual Speed) model, designed for renovation projects.

Both the basic model and the DPC model, which is controlled with constant pressure or air volume, feature a display with easy-to-use selection buttons below it. With the control panel of these units, the fan can be set at a constant speed, it can be adjusted with 0-10 V control voltage, or 2-speed control (Low/High) can be used. The control panel can also be connected to a Modbus bus. In addition, the automation substation receives the on/off status and alarm information directly.

The basic model can be equipped with an external temperature sensor, so that the fan speed of the roof fan can be decreased as necessary in winter when the outdoor temperature falls. The DPC model can be mounted with two temperature sensors: one for outdoor air compensation and one for density adjustment of the duct air temperature.

Vallox Exxeo DS is a 2-speed model for renovation projects to replace an old 2-speed roof fan. The cable from the old distribution board is connected to the safety switch for speed control. There is no need to do anything to the electrical cabling during installation; all of the adjustments for different fan speeds are made within the roof fan. NOTE: The Vallox Exxeo DS roof fan cannot replace a three-phase roof fan controlled by a frequency converter.
Including accessories: The controller card is included in the delivery, but a possible controller must be ordered separately.

What do the letters DS and DPC mean in the Exxeo models?

These are model designations within the Vallox Exxeo roof fan range.

The DS model features an integrated dual-speed converter, making it suitable for replacing older two-speed AC roof fans.

The DPC model comes as standard with the capability for pressure control and airflow control, enabling energy-efficient and demand-controlled ventilation.

Which roof fan is suitable for renovation projects?

The Vallox Exxeo DS is a two-speed model designed for renovation applications.

The cable from the existing electrical distribution board (2 × three-phase supply + PE) is connected to the safety switch. This makes it possible to continue using the existing contactor control system and avoids the need to install a new cable.

What accessories can be installed on roof fans?

Vallox Exxeo roof fans can be equipped with a variety of accessories, including sensors for measuring outdoor temperature, duct air temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide (CO₂), and VOC compounds, as well as a time switch with enclosure for two-speed roof fan control and a potentiometer for 0-10 V control of the roof fan.

The basic Vallox Exxeo model can be equipped with an external temperature sensor, allowing the fan speed to be reduced when the outdoor temperature drops during winter, if necessary.

The DPC model can be fitted with two temperature sensors: one is used for outdoor air compensation, and the other is intended for air density correction based on duct air temperature.

Can a roof fan be connected to a Modbus network?

The Vallox Exxeo basic model and the DPC model are equipped with Modbus readiness directly in the fans, with the exception of the two smallest sizes.

Using the Modbus connection, it is also possible to control the two smallest exhaust fans through the control board.

Are roof fans available in different color options?

Yes, Vallox Exxeo roof fans can be factory-painted in the desired color, allowing the roof fan to blend more seamlessly with the building’s roof.

Where can I get help with designing a ventilation system that uses a roof fan?

Vallox Exxeo roof fans are available in the MagiCAD Cloud product database and can be used in AutoCAD and Revit software. In addition, the products are available in the Cadmatic HVAC software.

Vallox also provides its own ExxeoSelect selection and sizing software.

What should be taken into account when installing a roof fan?

The roof fan must be installed on the roof in such a way that maintenance procedures can be carried out safely. The unit is always supplied with an installation frame, which makes on-site installation of the roof fan easy.

All control equipment supplied with Exxeo roof fans is integrated and protected within its own enclosure behind the service hatch. A safety switch is always supplied pre-installed and pre-wired with the product.

How does a roof fan perform in different weather conditions?

Vallox Exxeo roof fans can be installed even in demanding climatic conditions. The zinc-magnesium coated steel sheet (corrosion category C4, painted C5) provides protection against corrosion and remains durable in all weather conditions.

Thanks to the unit’s design, rainwater is directed to the side of the unit, preventing water from flowing into the ductwork. In addition, the perforated roof cover protects the unit from leaves and other loose debris.

How is a roof fan maintained?

Vallox Exxeo roof fans are equipped with a tilting section, which allows the roof fan to be swung aside during maintenance.

Ensure that the power supply has been disconnected and that the impeller has come to a complete stop before touching the roof fan or fan components.

Any damaged parts must always be repaired or replaced using genuine spare parts.
